What to do Undiscovered gems

Undiscovered gems

Discover the 10 lesser known spots in the city

Top 10 Things to do in Granada?

1º

House of Zafra

An architectural treasure of the Spanish Arabic period, the House of Zafra is part of the living history of the Albaicín.

You can also discover other houses and monuments from the Arab period in Granada: the Moorish House of the Horno del Oro and The Bañuelo (Arab Baths)

2º

Granada Bullring

Granada boasts one of the most important bullrings in Spain.

Adventure into the world of bull-fighting with a visit to Granada's bullring, which is also one of the most popular places for tapas in the city.

3º

Sacromonte Abbey

Standing on a hill above the Valparaíso valley, Sacromonte Abbey is an icon of this traditional neighbourhood.

A Christian jewel, the abbey is also where the well-known procession of Our Lord of the Roma ends during Granada's Holy Week.

4º

Rodriguez-Acosta Foundation

Granada-born painter Rodríguez Acosta built his original carmen (a house with an interior garden) in the vicinity of the Alhambra.

Built in the eclectic style, the Rodriguez-Acosta Foundation offers an unexpected type of monument and tour.

5º

Manuel de Falla House Museum

This lovely little house on the Alhambra hill preserves the spirit of the great composer Manuel de Falla when he lived in Granada.

A display of his personal belongings, souvenirs and gifts affords an intimate view of Falla, who was a close friend of Lorca.

6º

Carmen of Max Moreau

Belgian artist Max Moreau chose this little corner of the Albaicín to spend the last years of his life. He chose well.

A delightful house museum where you can discover a typical carmen of Granada, with its house, orchard and garden.

7º

Mirador de la Churra (viewpoint)

This is arguably the least-known mirador of the many you can find in Granada.

Observing the colour of the carmens in the Albaicín at sunset from the Mirador de la Churra is undoubtedly one of the best ways to get away from the bustle of the city.

8º

Cemetery of San José

The cemetery of San José, on the hill of the Alhambra, is one of the best examples of monumental cemeteries in Europe. Moreover, it boasts stunning views of the Alhambra and Sierra Nevada mountains.

You can also discover it with one of the guided tours.

9º

Monastery of La Concepción

One of the oldest and most representative monasteries in Granada is also one of the least known.

Located in the heart of the Albaicín, the Monastery of La Concepción holds innumerable works of art.

10º

House of the Pisa - Museum of San Juan de Dios

The house where San Juan de Dios (Saint John of God) died is very close to Plaza Nueva, at the entry to the Albaicín neighbourhood.

The House of the Pisa is a tribute to his work. Inside there is a museum in honour of the saint, who is venerated worldwide.
